A bit about me and my approach
Thoughts That Guide My Practice
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” — Carl Jung
What feels like a “problem” today was often a solution that helped you survive something difficult. Your patterns developed for good reasons — they were protecting you. Together, we’ll explore what those patterns have been trying to accomplish and use that insight to build tools that support you now.
“Traveller, there is no path; the path is made by walking.” — Antonio Machado
Change happens by taking steps, not wishing things were different. While we explore your story and patterns, we also focus on building practical skills you can use every day.
My Approach
I work with youth and adults who want to understand their patterns and create meaningful change. I’m warm, real, and straightforward — therapy with me is more than talking about what’s hard. We look at what’s happening beneath the surface, why your patterns make sense, and what can help things shift.
You’ll learn the science behind what we’re exploring: how the brain and body are connected, how your nervous system responds to stress, and how your past experiences shape the way you react, relate, and cope.
I use an integrative, eclectic approach, meaning I pull from different therapies depending on what fits you and your needs. Some of the main influences in my work include:
EMDR: Helps reduce the intensity of traumatic or overwhelming memories.
Attachment-focused work: Explores how early experiences shape relationships and self-worth.
DBT skills: Practical strategies for navigating emotions and relationships.
Parts work / inner child work: Understanding the different “parts” within you and helping them feel safer.
Polyvagal-informed therapy: Supporting your nervous system to feel steadier and less overwhelmed.
Coherence Therapy: Uncovering the emotional logic beneath your symptoms so real, lasting change can happen.
Every pattern tells a story. We’ll uncover yours and develop tools that support the next chapter.

My journey
I’m a fellow human who has lived through both joy and difficulty. I believe everyone carries trauma and grief — it’s part of being alive. Healing often begins when pain goes from hidden to heard, but that requires seeing the patterns that keep you stuck and understanding the story behind them.
As a neurodivergent parent, I understand complexity, overwhelm, and the realities of family life. I recently completed my Master’s in Counselling Psychology, and my background includes mental health advocacy, family liaison work, school-based support, victim services, youth coaching, crisis counselling, and a nonprofit internship.
Working with LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent people, youth, and families has taught me that every story matters — and every story makes sense in its context.
I’m curious about who you are and what you’ve lived through. Together, we’ll explore your story honestly, identify unhelpful patterns, and use tools that actually work for you.

The real me is...
I mix serious conversations with a bit of humour because life is already heavy enough. I show up as myself — real, grounded, and human.
My undergrad is in Biochemistry, so I love understanding how things work, especially the brain. I grew up in rural Alberta and Saskatchewan with immigrant and military-community roots. Mental health challenges were part of our family reality, and those experiences shaped the work I do today.
Outside of sessions, you’ll find me walking my dog, cheering at my kids’ sports, baking, and spending time with family.
Reaching out can feel scary — especially when pain has involved other people. Trust matters. I’m committed to being steady, supportive, and working alongside you. Change is hard, but we figure it out together.
